Job Summary
The Urgent Care Veterinarian plays a crucial role in providing immediate and high-quality medical care for pets with acute health issues. This position involves diagnosing conditions, administering treatment, and ensuring the well-being of animals in urgent need of attention.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough examinations on animals to assess their health status.
- Diagnose illnesses and injuries through tests and evaluations.
- Administer necessary treatments, including surgery if required.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding treatment options and care instructions.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for all patients.
- Provide guidance and support to veterinary staff and support team members.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
- Active veterinary license in the state of practice.
- Strong clinical skills and experience in emergency and urgent care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
