Utility Operator I
Location: Avon, OH
Compensation: $20/HR
As a key contributor within the Production team, the Utility Operator plays a crucial role in facilitating stockroom operations, as well as paint and finishing manufacturing processes, to ensure the delivery of high-quality components.
Key Responsibilities
- Retrieve parts for assembly stations and manage stockroom inventory and organization.
- Achieve and sustain designated production goals while adhering to quality standards.
- Eliminate burrs, sharp edges, tooling marks, and other defects from machined components on castings.
- Operate the wash tank system effectively, ensuring correct concentration levels through daily titration assessments.
- Ensure parts are free from contaminants such as dirt, oil, and media, preparing them appropriately for the Painting Department.
- Strip and clean parts that have been improperly finished.
- Inspect both work-in-progress and completed parts for compliance with specifications, ensuring all necessary documentation is maintained.
- Possess basic skills in reading blueprints.
- Basic computer proficiency is required.
Requirements
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a machine shop setting is required.
- Capability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and both written and verbal instructions.
- Intermediate applied math skills or proven ability (addition, subtraction, units of measure, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals).
- Strong ability to collaborate effectively with team members and contribute as a team player.
- Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and sustained standing.
