Utility Operator I
Location: Avon, OH
Compensation: $20/HR

As a key contributor within the Production team, the Utility Operator plays a crucial role in facilitating stockroom operations, as well as paint and finishing manufacturing processes, to ensure the delivery of high-quality components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Retrieve parts for assembly stations and manage stockroom inventory and organization.
  • Achieve and sustain designated production goals while adhering to quality standards.
  • Eliminate burrs, sharp edges, tooling marks, and other defects from machined components on castings.
  • Operate the wash tank system effectively, ensuring correct concentration levels through daily titration assessments.
  • Ensure parts are free from contaminants such as dirt, oil, and media, preparing them appropriately for the Painting Department.
  • Strip and clean parts that have been improperly finished.
  • Inspect both work-in-progress and completed parts for compliance with specifications, ensuring all necessary documentation is maintained.
  • Possess basic skills in reading blueprints.
  • Basic computer proficiency is required.

Requirements

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a machine shop setting is required.
  • Capability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and both written and verbal instructions.
  • Intermediate applied math skills or proven ability (addition, subtraction, units of measure, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals).
  • Strong ability to collaborate effectively with team members and contribute as a team player.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and sustained standing.
