Job Summary
The Vascular Step Down RN plays a crucial role in the care and recovery of patients following vascular surgeries or procedures. This position is essential for monitoring patients who require intermediate care and ensuring that they receive appropriate post-operative support. The nurse will utilize their specialized knowledge and skills to assess patient conditions, recognize changes, and intervene as necessary to promote optimal recovery outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from vascular surgeries.
- Monitor vital signs and manage post-operative care, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Administer medications as prescribed and educate patients on their recovery processes.
- Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to create and implement individualized care plans.
- Document all patient interactions and clinical assessments accurately and thoroughly.
- Assist in the readiness and preparation of patients for discharge.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Experience in post-operative or step-down nursing is preferred.
- Strong assessment and critical thinking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification may be required.
