Job Summary
The Vascular Step Down Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to patients recovering from vascular-related surgeries or procedures. This role involves monitoring patients’ vital signs, managing post-operative care, and ensuring that patients receive the appropriate interventions based on their condition.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess patients’ condition continuously, noting any changes that require intervention.
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and established protocols.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding recovery and care plans.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust individual care plans as necessary.
- Document all patient care activities accurately and timely in electronic medical records.
- Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations as well as hospital policies.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred but not required.
- Previous experience in a vascular care setting or step-down unit is highly advantageous.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to prioritize care needs effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support patient interaction.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) may be required.
