Job Summary
The Vascular Step Down Registered Nurse is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to patients recovering from vascular surgeries and related procedures. This role requires adept assessment, clinical judgment, and patient management skills to ensure optimal recovery outcomes in a monitored care environment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor patient progress following vascular procedures and surgeries, ensuring vital signs and overall health are stable.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately, observing for any side effects or complications.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about postoperative care, recovery expectations, and follow-up procedures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting observations, interventions, and patient responses.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a safe and effective care environment.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the relevant state.
- Experience in acute care, particularly in vascular or step-down units is preferred.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and team members.
- Knowledge of post-operative care protocols and vascular health.
