Job Summary
The Travel Surgical Technologist is a critical role within operating room environments, primarily focused on providing assistance during surgical procedures. This position requires an individual who is adaptable and willing to travel to various healthcare facilities for a duration of 13 weeks, playing an integral role in ensuring that surgeries are executed smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain a sterile environment in the operating room.
- Assist surgeons by passing instruments and supplies during procedures.
- Ensure the availability of necessary surgical equipment and materials.
- Support surgical staff by managing the setup, cleanup, and maintenance of the operating room.
- Monitor and fulfill the needs of the surgical team throughout the procedure.
Qualifications
- Completion of a surgical technologist program or equivalent education.
- Certification as a surgical technologist (CST) is preferred.
- Previous experience in a surgical setting, ideally within operating rooms.
- Strong knowledge of sterilization techniques and infection control.
- Ability to work in high-pressure environments and adapt to various operating room procedures.
