Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Operating Room (OR) plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality surgical care. This position involves collaborating with surgeons, anesthetists, and surgical teams to ensure safe and efficient procedures, maintaining the highest standard of patient care throughout the surgical process.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of the operating room, ensuring all surgical instruments are sterile and ready for use.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after surgery, providing necessary interventions as required.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to execute procedures successfully, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Document patient information, surgical procedures, and any variances during surgeries in the medical records.
- Educate patients and their families regarding post-operative care and recovery.
- Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with best practices and technology in the surgical field.
Qualifications
- Current RN license in good standing.
- Experience in an operating room setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required.
