Job Summary
The Dental Assistant plays a critical role in supporting dental care professionals and ensuring efficient patient flow. The primary function of this position is to assist in various clinical procedures, maintain patient comfort, and contribute to an organized and sterile environment within the dental practice.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures to ensure optimal patient care.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment for dental procedures.
- Manage patient records and maintain accurate documentation of treatments.
- Educate patients on post-operative care and general oral hygiene practices.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area and treatment rooms.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently.
- Process billing and insurance information as necessary.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional dental assistant training preferred.
- Certification from an accredited dental assistant program is desirable.
- Experience in a dental office setting is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective patient communication.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Familiarity with dental software and administrative procedures is advantageous.
