Evaluate assigned patients’ occupational therapy needs, develop and adapt treatment plans, and deliver medically prescribed rehabilitation in accordance with professional and health system standards. Document care thoroughly, educate patients and families, coordinate referrals to other clinical services, and support the education and supervision of occupational therapy students. A master’s degree in occupational therapy and a New York State occupational therapist license or temporary permit are required; candidates hired with a permit must obtain the license within three months. Applicants must have good communication and interpersonal skills and current BLS or CPR/AED certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross; a clinical doctorate in occupational therapy is preferred.
