Job Summary
The SDU RN (Staff Development Unit Registered Nurse) plays a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care in a specialized nursing environment. This position demands a well-rounded nurse who possesses strong clinical skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. The SDU RN is responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for patients, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout their stay.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patient needs and develop personalized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, maintaining accurate documentation.
- Monitor patients’ progress and adjust care plans as necessary, collaborating with healthcare providers.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding care plans and treatment options.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards within the unit.
- Participate in staff meetings and ongoing educational opportunities to enhance professional development.
Qualifications
- Current RN licensure in the state of practice.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Previous experience in a critical care or similar nursing environment is advantageous.
- Strong critical thinking and effective communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
