Job Summary
The Milieu Nurse plays a critical role in delivering nursing care, dispensing medications, and directly interacting with youth to promote the acquisition of essential adaptive living skills. This position entails closely observing crisis situations while working in partnership with a multi-disciplinary team to execute therapeutic treatment strategies effectively.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing services to youth.
- Administer prescribed medications to clients.
- Engage with youth to help them develop necessary adaptive living skills.
- Monitor and assess crisis situations to ensure safety and appropriate responses.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to create and implement therapeutic treatment plans.
Qualifications
- Must be a Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Connecticut.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.
- Experience in psychiatric or congregate care settings is necessary.
- Skills in crisis intervention and behavioral management are essential.
