Job Summary
The Sterile Processing Technician: OR Instrument Specialist is an integral part of our team at USPI Memorial Hermann Surgical Hospital Kingwood in Houston, Texas. This onsite position is essential for ensuring that all surgical instruments are properly cared for, maintained, and prepared for use in our operating and treatment rooms.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the cleanliness and sterilization of all surgical instruments.
- Maintain and organize surgical instruments and trays to meet operational requirements.
- Prepare instruments and equipment for various outpatient procedures within the hospital’s surgical suites.
- Collaborate with surgical and healthcare teams to fulfill departmental needs.
- Participate in the inventory management of surgical supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
- Experience in sterile processing or a similar role in a surgical environment.
- Understanding of sterilization techniques and infection control protocols.
- Ability to work effectively in a surgical team setting.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Certification in sterile processing is preferred but not mandatory.
