Job Summary
The Patient Care Technician position in the 2nd Surgical Acute unit is a per diem role in Vineland. This role primarily focuses on supporting the nursing staff in delivering high-quality patient care to those admitted for surgical procedures. The technician will assist in various tasks to ensure that patients receive the best possible care and support throughout their recovery process.
Responsibilities
- Assist nursing staff in providing basic patient care and comfort measures.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team.
- Help patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and mobility.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the patient environment.
- Support patient and family education throughout the care process.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a nursing assistant program is preferred.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing patient needs.
