Job Summary
The Neonatal Pediatric Registered Respiratory Therapist is specialized in delivering respiratory care and support to infants and children. This role encompasses managing respiratory therapy in neonatal and pediatric units and requires expertise in advanced techniques and technology to ensure the well-being of vulnerable patients.
Responsibilities
- Administer therapies including oxygen and aerosol treatments to neonates and pediatric patients.
- Perform therapeutic procedures such as chest physiotherapy and mechanical ventilation management.
- Assess patients’ respiratory conditions and intervene as necessary.
- Collaborate with medical teams to formulate and implement care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Educate families on respiratory care and equipment usage.
- Maintain equipment and ensure safety protocols are followed within the respiratory care department.
Qualifications
- Current licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
- Completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program.
- Certification in Neonatal/Pediatric Critical Care or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of neonatal and pediatric pathophysiology.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a team environment.
