Job Summary
The Laboratory Technician will be engaged in a research laboratory focused on maintaining optimal operations and facilitating productivity and development initiatives across the organization, particularly in the Composites and Insulation sectors. This role entails hands-on work with materials and various testing processes that are pivotal for the projects at hand.
Responsibilities
- Prepare samples for a range of analyses.
- Handle various glass and raw materials related to the Composites and Insulation businesses.
- Conduct physical property tests on diverse materials.
- Operate in a hot environment to melt glass for testing purposes.
- Utilize different equipment to mix and melt glasses tailored to specific project goals.
- Employ cutting and grinding tools to prepare refractory brick samples.
- Test refractory samples in a high-temperature environment.
Qualifications
- Proficient in basic Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Possess a High School Diploma or GED; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Familiarity with raw material splitting and grinding techniques.
- Experience with particle size analysis through sieving methods.
- Comfortable operating saws and related equipment.
