Job Summary

The Maintenance Engineering Technician II is a skilled hands-on role that entails the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of production and packaging machinery in a manufacturing setting. This position requires expertise in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, piping, automation, and control systems, aimed at enhancing equipment reliability and fostering continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair various machinery, production equipment, and electrical systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs.
  • Modify and rebuild production equipment and systems based on engineering guidelines.
  • Analyze maintenance data and propose enhancements for procedures.
  • Conduct machinery inspections using electrical testing devices.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules and processes.
  • Diagnose malfunctions and outline repair strategies.
  • Disassemble faulty equipment and install components per specifications.
  • Fabricate and assemble mechanical and electrical parts as needed.
  • Install and oversee piping systems along with hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • Perform repairs on gauges, valves, and other mechanical instruments.
  • Maintain and create technical documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Establish and manage qualification testing protocols.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams regarding project priorities.
  • Calibrate various instruments using precise testing tools.
  • Provide technical support and training for Maintenance Mechanics.
  • Operate and repair automated machinery, including robotics.
  • Utilize machine tools for repairs and fabrication needs.
  • Comply with safety protocols and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in maintenance or manufacturing engineering technology.
  • Capable of working independently with a range of tasks from basic to advanced troubleshooting.
  • Proficient in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Adept at interpreting specifications, blueprints, and technical documentation.
  • Skilled in using precision tools and electrical testing instruments.
  • Experience with automation, robotics, or programmable industrial controllers is preferred.
  • Familiar with preventative maintenance and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Able to act as a technical advisor and assist in the training of fellow Maintenance Mechanics.
