Job Summary
The Maintenance Engineering Technician II is a skilled hands-on role that entails the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of production and packaging machinery in a manufacturing setting. This position requires expertise in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, piping, automation, and control systems, aimed at enhancing equipment reliability and fostering continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair various machinery, production equipment, and electrical systems.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs.
- Modify and rebuild production equipment and systems based on engineering guidelines.
- Analyze maintenance data and propose enhancements for procedures.
- Conduct machinery inspections using electrical testing devices.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules and processes.
- Diagnose malfunctions and outline repair strategies.
- Disassemble faulty equipment and install components per specifications.
- Fabricate and assemble mechanical and electrical parts as needed.
- Install and oversee piping systems along with hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
- Perform repairs on gauges, valves, and other mechanical instruments.
- Maintain and create technical documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Establish and manage qualification testing protocols.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams regarding project priorities.
- Calibrate various instruments using precise testing tools.
- Provide technical support and training for Maintenance Mechanics.
- Operate and repair automated machinery, including robotics.
- Utilize machine tools for repairs and fabrication needs.
- Comply with safety protocols and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
- 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in maintenance or manufacturing engineering technology.
- Capable of working independently with a range of tasks from basic to advanced troubleshooting.
- Proficient in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Adept at interpreting specifications, blueprints, and technical documentation.
- Skilled in using precision tools and electrical testing instruments.
- Experience with automation, robotics, or programmable industrial controllers is preferred.
- Familiar with preventative maintenance and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Able to act as a technical advisor and assist in the training of fellow Maintenance Mechanics.
