Job Summary
The Surgical Technician plays a crucial role in the operating room, providing essential assistance to surgeons and other medical staff during surgical procedures. This position requires a combination of technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient safety.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room by ensuring all necessary surgical instruments and equipment are sterile and functioning properly.
- Assist in positioning patients for surgical procedures to ensure optimal access and safety.
- Hand instruments and supplies to surgeons during operations, maintaining a seamless workflow in the surgical environment.
- Monitor the sterile field to prevent contamination and adhere to all safety protocols.
- Help with post-operative care by cleaning and organizing the operating room and instruments.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited surgical technology program.
- Certification as a surgical technologist (CST) is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and sterile techniques.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to effectively collaborate with surgical teams.
- Ability to work in high-pressure environments and respond quickly to emergencies.
