Job Summary
The OR1RN – Operating Room Registered Nurse plays a vital role in the surgical environment over the weekends. The nurse will be engaged in orthopedic, vascular, and general surgical procedures, ensuring safe and efficient patient care throughout the surgical process.
Responsibilities
- Prepare operative rooms and ensure all necessary instruments and equipment are available.
- Assist surgeons during operations by providing the required instruments and supplies.
- Monitor patient conditions pre, during, and post-surgery to identify any complications.
- Maintain sterile techniques to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team to enhance workflow and patient care.
- Educate patients about surgical procedures and postoperative care requirements.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required.
- Experience in operating room nursing, particularly in orthopedic, vascular, and general surgery.
- Strong understanding of surgical procedures and sterile techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
