Job Summary
The Trauma Ortho, Med Surg RN plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and challenging environment. This position requires expertise in trauma and orthopedic nursing, with a focus on both medical and surgical patient needs. The RN will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide effective treatment and support for patients undergoing recovery from trauma and surgical procedures.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with trauma and orthopedic injuries.
- Monitor patient vitals and progress, ensuring timely interventions as necessary.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Assist in developing individualized care plans that address the unique needs of each patient.
- Educate patients and families about post-operative care and recovery strategies.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate care effectively.
- Document patient information accurately in medical records.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Experience in trauma, orthopedic, or surgical nursing preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work in high-pressure situations with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification may be required.
