Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist – OR position in Urbana, Illinois, entails working onsite as an integral member of the surgical team. This role includes assisting the surgical staff under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, specifically in ensuring that the surgical area remains sterile and organized. The technologist will also provide age-appropriate care to patients, particularly in obstetric cases, adhering to departmental standards. Responsibilities
- Assist the surgical team in maintaining a sterile environment throughout surgical procedures.
- Provide care tailored to the age and specific needs of obstetrical patients.
- Perform scrubbing duties for medical students, residents, and other surgical team members.
- Cohesively work with the surgical team under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a surgical technology program preferred.
- Certification in surgical technology may be required or preferred.
- Strong understanding of sterilization techniques and surgical processes.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
