Job Summary
The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) plays a critical role in providing immediate care to patients in urgent medical situations. They are responsible for assessing patient conditions, performing emergency procedures, and collaborating closely with medical and nursing staff to deliver timely and effective healthcare in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients upon arrival in the emergency department.
- Administer medications, treatments, and emergency procedures as required.
- Monitor vital signs and manage patients’ care throughout their stay.
- Document patient data accurately and in a timely manner within electronic health records.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to create and implement care plans.
- Provide support and education to patients and their families regarding treatment plans and outcomes.
- Perform triage of patients based on severity of their conditions.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred or equivalent experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Experience in an emergency room or critical care setting is highly preferred.
- Strong assessment and clinical skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and healthcare teams effectively.
