Job Summary
The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) plays a critical role in delivering prompt and effective care to patients experiencing acute medical conditions. This position involves evaluating and triaging patients, administering treatment, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely interventions in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assess incoming patients and determine the urgency of their conditions through preliminary evaluations.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and nursing protocols.
- Monitor and document patient vitals and responses to interventions in a meticulous manner.
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to plan and implement patient care strategies.
- Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, and ongoing care requirements.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment by adhering to infection control protocols and hospital policies.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with emergency nursing practices and guidelines.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Previous experience in an emergency room or critical care setting preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is highly desirable.
- Strong assessment, clinical judgment, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with a focus on patient-centered care.
- BLS and ACLS certification are required; additional certifications may be an advantage.
