Job Summary
The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) plays a crucial role in evaluating and managing patients with respiratory issues. This healthcare professional is responsible for implementing respiratory care plans, providing treatment, and conducting diagnostic tests to improve patient outcomes. The RRT collaborates with other healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive care for patients requiring respiratory support.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ respiratory conditions.
- Administer therapeutic treatments to address respiratory ailments.
- Perform diagnostic testing including pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analysis.
- Monitor and document patient progress and responses to therapy.
- Work collaboratively with physicians and healthcare staff to develop and modify care plans.
- Educate patients and families about respiratory disease management and treatment options.
Qualifications
- Must hold a valid Registered Respiratory Therapist credential.
- Completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program.
- Strong understanding of respiratory pathophysiology and treatment modalities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
