Job Summary
The Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in enhancing the efficiency of the outpatient treatment program by ensuring that examination rooms are ready for use, aiding healthcare providers during patient assessments, and maintaining electronic medical records. In addition, they are tasked with specimen collection, conducting EKGs, and providing assistance during medical emergencies.
Responsibilities
- Prepare examination rooms for patient visits.
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Manage and update electronic health records.
- Collect laboratory specimens as required.
- Perform EKG tests and ensure equipment readiness.
- Respond appropriately to medical emergencies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D. is mandatory.
- Valid Medical Assistant certification is required.
- At least one year of experience in a medical assistant capacity is essential, ideally within a behavioral health environment.
