Job Summary
The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) is a vital member of the healthcare team responsible for delivering high-quality care to patients experiencing emergency medical situations. This role involves rapid assessment, prioritization, and management of various emergency conditions, making timely decisions to ensure patient safety and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify urgent health concerns.
- Administer medications and treatments as required, in accordance with established protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Monitor vital signs and observe for any changes in patient conditions.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding health issues and treatments.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for all patient care activities.
- Participate in emergency response drills and training to enhance skills and readiness.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (preferred) or an equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience in an Emergency Room or critical care setting is highly advantageous.
- Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and families.
- Ability to think critically and act swiftly in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
