Job Summary
The role involves evaluating and providing feedback on audio and speech samples in multiple languages, with a specific focus on translating and localizing English content into Oromo. The successful candidate will also be responsible for generating natural audio data and working alongside technical teams to enhance annotation protocols and tools, accommodating different accents, recording environments, and speech characteristics.
Responsibilities
- Annotate and review multilingual audio and speech recordings.
- Translate and localize English materials into the Oromo language.
- Produce high-quality natural audio data for various applications.
- Collaborate with technical staff to refine annotation guidelines and tools.
- Adapt processes to better suit a range of accents and speech patterns.
Qualifications
- Proficient in Oromo at CEFR C1 level or above.
- Fluent in English at CEFR B2 level or higher.
- Preferred: Native proficiency in Oromo.
- Preferred: Enhanced English language skills.
- Preferred: Experience in areas such as audio annotation, translation, localization, audio production, linguistics, phonetics, or handling speech datasets.
