Bone Marrow Transplant RN

Job Summary

The Bone Marrow Transplant Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in providing specialized care to patients undergoing bone marrow transplants. This position involves comprehensive patient assessment, management of treatment plans, and education for both patients and their families throughout the transplant process.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and monitor patient conditions, ensuring treatment efficacy and safety.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans for transplant recipients.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding the transplant process and post-transplant care.
  • Administer medications and monitor for potential side effects and complications.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate health records.

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license with a focus on oncology or specialty nursing.
  • Experience in the care of transplant patients preferred.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively educate patients and families.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Certification in oncology nursing or related fields is a plus.
