Job Summary
The Buyer/Planner position is a critical role based in Akron, OH, offering a hybrid work model on a contract basis for a duration of over 12 months. This role focuses on managing the supply chain processes for goods and services while ensuring efficient operations and timely delivery of materials.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the global supply chain for assigned goods and services, ensuring continuous replenishment activities are effectively coordinated.
- Maintain and enhance ERP system (SAP) data accuracy and functionality.
- Ensure the timely delivery of all materials, components, and outsourced finished products.
- Collaborate efficiently with suppliers, global sourcing agents, and supply chain leaders to meet forecasts and fulfill orders.
- Place and manage purchase orders in accordance with vendor confirmations, ensuring they are processed quickly to satisfy company needs.
- Ensure accurate and timely information in the SAP system regarding lead times, order status, delivery schedules, and inventory lot sizes.
- Proactively manage and report any material shortages to relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications
- At least two years of experience in planning or procurement is required.
- Proficient in the full Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
- APICS certification is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Experience with SAP is highly preferred; candidates with knowledge of other ERP systems will also be considered.
