Job Summary
The Cardiac SDU RN is a vital role within our healthcare team, focusing on providing high-quality nursing care to patients with cardiovascular conditions. This position requires a specialized skill set and knowledge in managing patients requiring cardiac monitoring and intervention. The nurse will be responsible for delivering compassionate care in a progressive care setting while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with cardiac issues in the step-down unit.
- Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and patient data to assess conditions and respond appropriately.
- Administer medications and assist with treatments as per protocols and physician orders.
- Educate patients and their families about health management and lifestyle modifications related to cardiac health.
- Work collaboratively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to enhance patient care.
- Document patient information accurately in electronic health records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Experience in cardiac nursing or cardiac step-down unit preferred.
- Current basic life support (BLS) certification and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification.
- Strong critical thinking, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
