Job Summary
The Central Sterile Technician Uncertified plays a vital role in healthcare facilities by supporting the sterilization and preparation of surgical instruments and medical supplies. This position ensures that all equipment is properly cleaned, maintained, and organized for safe patient care. The technician works in collaboration with surgical teams to ensure efficient operations and contributes to overall patient safety.
Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of sterile processing areas.
- Assist in the decontamination and sterilization processes of surgical instruments.
- Prepare and wrap instruments for sterilization, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Conduct routine checks on sterilization equipment and report any malfunctions.
- Adhere to infection control policies during all processes.
- Help in managing inventory levels of surgical supplies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Experience in healthcare or sterile processing preferred but not mandated.
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques and infection control standards is advantageous.
- Effective communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
