Job Summary
The Certified Nurse Midwife at UPMC Women’s First plays a vital role in providing comprehensive care to women throughout their reproductive lifecycle. This position encompasses a variety of services including prenatal, labor, delivery, and postpartum care, along with gynecological examinations and family planning consultations.
Responsibilities
- Deliver midwifery care during labor and childbirth, ensuring the safety and well-being of both the mother and newborn.
- Conduct thorough prenatal and postnatal assessments, with a focus on patient education and individualized care plans.
- Provide gynecological care, including routine exams and consultations on reproductive health.
- Engage with patients to promote wellness and healthy lifestyle choices, addressing any concerns related to pregnancy and women’s health.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless integration of midwifery services with overall patient care.
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Nurse Midwife, holding a valid license in the practicing state.
- A master’s degree in nursing or a related field, with specialized training in midwifery.
- Demonstrated experience in midwifery practice, with a strong focus on patient-centered care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with patients.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to industry standards in women’s health.
