Job Summary
The Certified Scrub Tech plays a critical role within the surgical team, ensuring a sterile and efficient environment during surgical procedures. This position demands a keen attention to detail, expertise in surgical instruments, and a strong understanding of the requirements for various surgical interventions. The Certified Scrub Tech collaborates closely with surgeons and other medical professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room and ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are sterilized and ready for use.
- Assist the surgical team during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field.
- Monitor and anticipate the needs of the surgeons, ensuring seamless workflow during surgeries.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to surgical procedures and equipment used.
- Assist in training new staff and provide guidance on best practices in the operating room.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with surgical procedures and techniques.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist from an accredited program.
- Valid CPR certification and a thorough understanding of surgical protocols.
- Proven experience in a surgical setting, with knowledge of various surgical procedures.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
