Job Summary
The Certified Scrub Tech plays a pivotal role in the surgical environment, ensuring that the surgical team functions efficiently and safely. This professional is responsible for maintaining sterile conditions and providing necessary surgical instruments during procedures. The Scrub Tech collaborates closely with surgeons and the entire surgical team to enhance patient outcomes and streamline operations in the operating room.
Responsibilities
- Assist with organizing and maintaining surgical instruments and supplies.
- Prepare the operating room by setting up required equipment and ensuring all instruments are sterile.
- Support surgeons during procedures by anticipating their needs and providing instruments promptly.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean working environment.
- Participate in the sterile processing of surgical instruments post-procedure.
Qualifications
- Must hold a certification as a Scrub Tech.
- Strong understanding of surgical procedures and sterile techniques.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented, with a commitment to patient safety and quality care.
- Previous experience in a surgical setting is preferred.
