Job Summary
University Hospitals is looking for a Certified Sterile Processing Technician to join our operational support team in Willoughby, Ohio. The position involves the critical task of managing the lifecycle of sterile surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring they are received, decontaminated, sterilized, assembled, and packaged properly. You’ll be an integral part of the Operating Room (OR) processing team, upholding the highest standards of safety and hygiene.
Responsibilities
- Receive and inspect sterile equipment and instrument trays.
- Conduct decontamination and sterilization processes according to established protocols.
- Assemble and package surgical instruments efficiently and accurately.
- Collaborate with the OR team to maintain an organized workflow.
- Adhere to safety regulations, including the proper management of protected health information (PHI).
Qualifications
- Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician required.
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques and procedures.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills essential for collaboration.
- Ability to follow protocols and practices related to infection control and safety.
