Mechanical Engineer Summary
Lead development of high-temperature, high-speed fiberizing and fiber collection technologies using experiments, analytical/theoretical modeling, and advanced numerical simulation (heat transfer, turbulent flow) to improve manufacturing productivity, product quality, and pack structure. Partner across R&D, labs, and plant operations to take concepts from lab to plant implementation. Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities

  • Champion safety; identify hazards and drive design-based safety improvements (DHE).
  • Advance fundamental understanding of centrifugal fiberizing and translate into improved fiberizing system designs.
  • Improve fiber collection/pack structure for better weight distribution and end-product thermal/mechanical performance.
  • Rapid prototyping, experimental design/validation, and plant-level implementation.
  • Leverage external partnerships; maintain strong technical documentation.
  • Provide technical leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and structured project execution.

Mechanical Engineer Requirements

  • MS/PhD Mechanical Engineering (thermal/fluids) or related; hands-on mechanical design/prototyping and industrial testing/troubleshooting experience (0–5 years); willing to travel 25–35%. (Required)
  • CAD, CFD, FEA; high-temp systems/materials challenges; high-speed rotating equipment; difficult-to-measure/extreme environments; combustion modeling; induction heating/alternative fuels/decarbonization. (Preferred)
