Job Summary
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in a hospice setting plays a crucial role in providing compassionate patient care. This position involves supporting individuals with end-of-life care, ensuring they receive the dignity and respect they deserve. A hospice CNA aids in daily living activities and is an essential part of the healthcare team, working to enhance the quality of life for patients and their families.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily personal hygiene and grooming.
- Support in mobility and transfers to ensure comfort and safety.
- Monitor vital signs and report any changes in patients’ conditions.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families.
- Document care delivered and maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated care.
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Nursing Assistant in the relevant state.
- Previous experience in hospice or palliative care is preferred.
- Compassionate approach to patient care and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly.
- Understanding of end-of-life care principles and practices.
