Job Summary
The Interventional Radiology Nurse (RN) plays a pivotal role in providing exceptional patient care within the interventional radiology department. This position involves collaborating with healthcare teams to deliver high-quality nursing care during various interventional procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout their healthcare experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing patients for interventional radiology procedures by conducting assessments and educating them about the necessary preparations.
- Monitor and manage patient vital signs and sedation levels throughout the procedures.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other medical staff during procedures to ensure patient well-being and safety.
- Provide post-procedural care, including managing any complications and providing instructions for recovery and follow-up.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation as required by healthcare standards.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Experience in interventional radiology or a related clinical field is preferred.
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to respond quickly to patient needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) may be preferred.
