Maintenance Supervisor
Location: Waxahachie, TX
As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will lead the maintenance team and drive the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) strategy within a significant plant sector. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that both plant areas and machinery are operated safely, efficiently, and reliably. This role includes establishing and monitoring goals, metrics, and Daily Management Systems (DMS) for the area. You will provide direction and development opportunities for maintenance staff, collaborate with Operations leadership to promote safe and consistent manufacturing practices, and contribute to the development of equipment strategies, standards, and ongoing improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities for Maintenance Supervisor:
- Oversee maintenance operations while prioritizing safety, ensuring adherence to all safety protocols, and proactively identifying and mitigating hazards.
- Foster the growth of maintenance team members by promoting self-education, sharing expertise, and ensuring comprehensive training for all roles.
- Uphold excellence within the maintenance organization by keeping workspaces, break areas, and tool storage tidy, while promoting a culture that values continuous improvement, morale, customer service, and employee development.
- Formulate and implement maintenance strategies aligned with key performance indicators (KPIs), TPM goals, and overall plant objectives, which include budget management, downtime analysis, compliance, and cost control.
- Prepare and oversee departmental budgets, managing scope definition, cost projections, purchase orders, invoice approvals, and expenditure tracking.
- Lead the execution of Reliability Work Process (RWP) initiatives, reliability plans, preventive maintenance scheduling, and long-term repair strategies; analyze equipment breakdowns and maintenance data to enhance preventive and predictive maintenance approaches, manage the preventive maintenance system, and oversee critical spare parts and maintenance documentation.
- Guide maintenance staff to ensure work is completed safely, promptly, and cost-effectively; resolve equipment issues, identify root causes, implement corrective measures, support environmental compliance, maintain accurate maintenance management system records, and coordinate activities with maintenance, engineering, production, and EHS teams to facilitate TPM efforts.
Qualifications for Maintenance Supervisor:
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related engineering, technology, or design discipline, or similar relevant experience.
- A background in industrial mechanics and electrical systems with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proficient in developing, leading, and implementing reliability-focused maintenance processes.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve results by motivating and engaging team members.
- Prior experience with maintenance management systems like Maximo or SAP.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
