The role of the **Maintenance Technician** involves promptly addressing production line concerns as they arise, along with diagnosing problematic areas and implementing long-term solutions.
Key Responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician:
- Respond to urgent production line requests to resolve issues swiftly.
- Perform maintenance on production machinery and equipment.
- Keep detailed records of preventive maintenance activities.
- Generate requisitions for parts and supplies necessary for equipment upkeep.
- Identify and rectify problem areas with effective, lasting solutions.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures in performing assigned tasks.
- Produce high-quality products that meet or surpass customer expectations by following Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by management.
Qualifications for the Maintenance Technician:
- High School diploma or GED is required.
- Associate’s degree or a comparable qualification from a technical school is preferred.
- Minimum of two years of maintenance experience is necessary.
- At least two years of experience or training in food manufacturing is advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes is essential.
- Ability to make decisions in line with established practices.
- Experience with production machinery and equipment is important.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks and resolve issues effectively.
- Understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems is required.
- Welding skills are necessary (TIG, MIG, and Stick).
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams.
- Familiarity with OSHA standards is a must.
- Basic computer literacy is required.
- Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems and PSM is a plus.
- Knowledge of SAP systems is preferred.
