Job Summary
The role of the Medical Assistant encompasses a blend of administrative and clinical responsibilities, facilitating efficient patient care within a healthcare setting. This position involves engaging directly with patients and supporting medical staff through various tasks.
Responsibilities
- Carry out clerical duties at the front office and assist with clinical tasks in the back office.
- Room patients and check their vital signs as part of the preparatory process for appointments.
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare providers.
- Ensure the work environment is clean and orderly.
- Document patient interactions and care in the electronic medical record system.
- Support and adhere to protocols established by healthcare providers.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or possession of a Medical Assistant certification.
- Alternatively, at least two years of experience as a military corpsman may be accepted.
- A current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
