Job Summary
The Mental Health Technician plays a crucial role in supporting individuals with mental health challenges, working alongside a team of healthcare professionals to enhance patient care and promote well-being.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily activities of patients, facilitating their rehabilitation and promoting a positive environment.
- Monitor patients’ behavior and report any changes to the healthcare team.
- Participate in the development and implementation of treatment plans.
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients during their recovery process.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients.
- Document patient progress and behavior accurately and comprehensively.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education in mental health or related fields is preferable.
- Previous experience in a healthcare or mental health setting is beneficial.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Understanding of mental health issues and treatment approaches.
- CPR and First Aid certification may be required or preferred.
