Job Summary
The Network Engineer plays a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing the company’s LAN/WAN infrastructure. This position involves working with Intel server technology on both Microsoft and Linux operating systems while handling network security, remote access, and voice/data communication needs. Although largely remote, candidates must be located in the Cleveland, OH area to provide onsite support during emergencies.
Responsibilities
- Deliver Tier 3 support to over 1,800 users across 18 or more locations.
- Ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements focusing on uptime and performance for users.
- Establish and uphold system standards, including documentation and configurations.
- Create and maintain procedures for performance optimization, recovery, and growth strategy.
- Assist in the testing and assessment of new hardware and software updates as needed.
- Supervise Network Specialists and Engineers on tasks related to switching and routing.
- Serve as the technical contact for vendors concerning the network systems.
- Design and manage security systems, including Firewalls and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS).
- Oversee the implementation of telephony systems and remote access methodologies.
- Establish data backup and recovery processes and ensure proper documentation of infrastructure systems.
- Maintain solid knowledge of the company’s software application systems.
- Stay updated on relevant infrastructure software and hardware products.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree along with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience; a combination of related education and experience may also be acceptable.
- Possess necessary technical skills to perform job functions effectively.
- Exhibit strong communication skills for engaging effectively with attorneys, clients, and colleagues via various mediums.
- Ability to understand and apply mathematical concepts to solve practical problems.
- Demonstrated reasoning skills, enabling the resolution of issues based on data analysis and interpretation.
- Adept at diagnosing and resolving complicated issues involving hardware, software, and users, while also showing leadership capabilities.
