Job Summary
The Night Shift Registered Nurse (RN) plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care during nighttime hours. This position involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients in a variety of medical settings. The Night Shift RN must effectively collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes while maintaining safety and comfort throughout the night.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to identify nursing and care needs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor and record vital signs and patient progress regularly.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families about care plans and health management.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate interdisciplinary patient care.
- Respond to patient emergencies promptly and efficiently.
- Document all nursing interventions and patient responses accurately in electronic health records.
- Participate in unit management and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse license in the respective state.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred, with relevant clinical experience.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Experience in acute care settings is an advantage.
- CERTIFICATION in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) may be required.
