Job Summary
The Night Shift Registered Nurse (RN) plays a critical role in providing compassionate and high-quality nursing care during overnight hours. The RN is responsible for assessing patients, implementing care plans, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This position requires a dedicated individual who can work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a calming presence for patients and their families.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ health status and needs.
- Develop and implement nursing care plans based on individual patient requirements.
- Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols.
- Monitor patient progress, document changes, and communicate effectively with the medical team.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment that complies with health and safety regulations.
- Respond promptly to critical situations and implement appropriate emergency protocols.
Qualifications
- Current RN license in good standing.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Experience in a clinical or hospital setting, particularly in a night shift capacity.
- Strong assessment, clinical reasoning, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
