Job Summary
The Night Shift Registered Nurse (RN) will provide comprehensive nursing care during nighttime hours to ensure optimal health outcomes for patients. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment, delivering high-quality patient care, and collaborating with healthcare teams while maintaining accurate health records.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, monitoring vital signs, and administering medications as prescribed.
- Collaborate with doctors and other healthcare staff to formulate and implement patient care plans.
- Assist in patient assessments and evaluate patient responses to treatment.
- Educate patients and their families regarding health conditions and necessary care.
- Maintain patient documentation and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Respond to emergencies and perform appropriate first aid and life-saving measures as needed.
- Oversee the work of novice nurses and support staff during the night shift.
Qualifications
- Current RN license in the state of practice.
- Experience in a clinical setting, preferably in a critical care or emergency department.
- Strong assessment, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and make decisions under pressure.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; additional certifications may be beneficial.
- Flexibility to work night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
