Job Summary
The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Sleep Medicine will play a vital role at University Medical Associates (UMA) in Charleston, South Carolina. This position entails providing exceptional patient care focused on sleep disorders, utilizing diagnostic assessments, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive treatment plans. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting evaluations, ordering tests, and interpreting results to facilitate effective sleep medicine practices.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients and their medical histories to identify sleep-related issues.
- Order and interpret diagnostic examinations including radiological and laboratory tests.
- Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Educate patients on sleep hygiene and management of sleep disorders.
Qualifications
- Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.
- Eligibility for certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant.
- Strong background in diagnosing and managing sleep disorders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
