Job Summary
This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in operating room procedures, with a focus on Gynecology, Urology, General Surgery, and Ophthalmology utilizing the Da Vinci XI surgical system. The role involves working as a scrub nurse to ensure the smooth operation of surgical procedures and support the surgical team in various settings.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and organization of the operating room for surgical procedures.
- Scrub and maintain sterility during surgeries, ensuring a safe environment for patients.
- Support the surgical team with instruments and supplies, anticipating their needs during operations.
- Collaborate with surgeons and other team members to facilitate efficient and effective surgical practices.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and overall condition during surgical procedures.
- Participate in the post-operative care of patients, including proper documentation and follow-up.
- Adhere to safety precautions and infection control protocols to maintain high standards in the operating room.
Qualifications
- Current registration as a nursing professional (RN) in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Experience in an operating room setting, particularly with Da Vinci Xi surgical equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented surgical environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to perform under pressure.
- Knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and sterile techniques.
- Relevant certifications or training in surgical nursing are preferred.
