Job Summary
The Patient Accounts Coordinator plays a vital role in managing and overseeing patient billing processes, ensuring accuracy and timely submission of claims. This position requires a detail-oriented individual to facilitate communication with insurance companies and maintain patient accounts.
Responsibilities
- Verify and ensure the accuracy of patient insurance information and billing details.
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance providers in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding their account status, resolving any discrepancies or inquiries.
- Follow up with insurance companies on outstanding claims to ensure prompt payment.
- Maintain organized records of patient accounts and billing transactions.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to streamline billing processes.
- Adhere to all regulatory requirements and organizational policies related to patient accounts.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing or patient account management.
- Strong knowledge of insurance verification and claims processing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in using billing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
