Job Summary
The Patient Care Technician position at the 3 South ICU Neuro department plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality care to patients. The technician will assist nursing staff in a variety of clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring that patient needs are met while maintaining a safe and efficient environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with direct patient care under the supervision of nursing staff.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
- Help patients with daily living activities and personal hygiene.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the patient care environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members and report changes in patient conditions.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required; certification as a nursing assistant or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in a critical care or ICU environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification is preferred or required.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
