Job Summary
The Patient Safety Technician is a critical role within the CDH Resource Team, tasked with ensuring patient safety on a part-time basis during night shifts. This position involves close monitoring of patients, supporting healthcare professionals, and maintaining a safe environment for patients in a healthcare facility. The technician plays a pivotal role in enhancing patient care and safety standards while coordinating with various departments as needed.
Responsibilities
- Monitor patients closely to identify any safety concerns or changes in condition.
- Assist healthcare staff in implementing patient safety protocols.
- Document observations and communicate effectively with team members regarding patient status.
- Ensure that the environment is conducive to patient safety through regular checks.
- Participate in safety drills and training sessions to maintain preparedness.
- Support the overall mission of the healthcare facility by promoting a safety-first culture.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; some healthcare-related training preferred.
- Experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in patient monitoring, is advantageous.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with staff and patients.
- Ability to remain vigilant and attentive in a fast-paced environment.
- Capacity to work flexible hours, specifically during night shifts.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures in patient care.
