Job Summary

The Payroll Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring payroll and associated records are processed accurately and punctually. This position requires proficiency in the Dayforce Workforce payroll and timekeeping system and is responsible for maintaining compliance with applicable regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure error-free payroll processing for both weekly and bi-weekly employees, adhering to all deadlines using the Dayforce system.
  • Verify timekeeping records for precision and adherence to regulations.
  • Conduct audits on employee system maintenance, including timekeeper profiles, and execute historical adjustments.
  • Manage employee deductions and payments related to support and garnishments.
  • Approve self-service requests for direct deposit and tax withholding adjustments.
  • Submit direct deposit files to banks in a timely manner.
  • Process and oversee federal, multi-state, and local payroll tax reporting, coordinating with third-party agencies as necessary.
  • Audit various payroll documents, identifying and reconciling any discrepancies.
  • Maintain meticulous vacation accrual profiles and rectify discrepancies as they arise.
  • Adhere to schedules for processing bonus payouts.
  • Oversee year-end preparations, including the production of W-2 forms.
  • Train employees and managers on the Dayforce timekeeping system.
  • Manage payroll month-end closing activities, interfacing directly with the general ledger.
  • Configure and maintain the Dayforce Payroll and Timekeeper applications.
  • Act as a point of contact for resolving payroll-related issues or errors.
  • Ensure proper documentation, retention, and maintenance of payroll records.
  • Develop and uphold organizational policies consistently.
  • Provide technical guidance and monitor the efficiency of systems and procedures, recommending improvements as needed.
  • Safeguard confidential information in accordance with HIPAA Privacy Rule requirements.
  • Complete necessary training pertaining to privacy rules and maintain compliance throughout job responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Completion of high school with at least five (5) years of payroll processing experience and one (1) year specifically utilizing the Dayforce Payroll and Timekeeping system.
  • Possession of a CPP certification or a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related discipline is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Essential knowledge of basic accounting principles and general ledger processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
