PCB Layout Designer

As a PCB Layout Designer, you will play a vital role in creating and executing intricate printed circuit board layouts. This role demands expertise in professional CAD software such as Altium, PADS, and Xpedition, along with a strong emphasis on collaboration with electrical engineers, manufacturing personnel, and clients to guarantee a smooth transition from design to production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and uphold PCB component libraries to ensure precision and consistency throughout all design initiatives.
- Create and execute comprehensive PCB layout solutions that align with engineering standards and project goals.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary product development teams to support ongoing product advancements.
- Produce detailed engineering documentation, including schematics, bills of materials, fabrication, and assembly diagrams to facilitate PCBA manufacturing.
- Engage with a multidisciplinary team comprising electrical and mechanical designers to ensure unified product development.
- Update and maintain PADS libraries to reflect current components and design criteria.
- Supervise PCB layout creation, including the review and approval of component placement to meet design and manufacturing criteria.
- Lead PCB layout reviews, considering high-speed design aspects such as crosstalk, signal integrity, and optimal layout practices.
- Prepare project quotes and estimates based on customer requirements and guidance from the engineering team.
- Stay informed about advanced high-speed design techniques, including PCB material selection, layer composition, and manufacturer guidelines, and apply them in designs where relevant.
- Assist in the component selection and qualification process through collaboration with hardware engineering teams.
- Engage in departmental and program-level meetings to ensure effective alignment and communication across teams.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
- Expertise in CAD software tools (such as Altium, PADS, Xpedition).
- Proven adaptability to various product sectors, including military, medical, consumer, and industrial electronics.
