Job Summary
The Pharmacy Technician 3 is responsible for assisting in pharmacy operations within a clinical context in the West Palm Beach region. This role involves collaborating with pharmacists to manage prescription processing, inventory control, prescription refills, and providing customer service while engaging with patients and the associated primary care clinic.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, count, and measure medications under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Support the pharmacist in processing prescriptions and handling refill requests.
- Gather information related to new prescriptions and refills.
- Utilize pharmacy computer systems to access and manage prescription data.
- Aid in the ordering, pricing, and maintaining stock of medications and supplies.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to patients in a clinic pharmacy setting.
- Direct calls from physicians and medication inquiries to the pharmacist as needed.
- Handle cash register operations and transaction processing when required.
- Conduct basic calculations pertinent to pharmacy functions.
- Assist in covering shifts for other pharmacy technicians, including during PTO.
- Adhere to pharmacy procedures, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Organize and prioritize daily tasks while working autonomously within set parameters.
- Work in cooperation with pharmacists and pharmacy personnel along with the associated primary care clinic.
Qualifications
- 2 to 3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Possession of an active Pharmacy Technician license/registration.
- Willingness to travel within the West Palm Beach area.
- Professional leadership experience of less than 2 years is acceptable.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
